New paper on large scale dynamics of plant water storage and canopy greening

A new paper led by Feng Tian (University of Copenhagen) and Jean-Pierre Wigneron (Inra) and involving two members of the Ecofun team, reveals seasonal dynamics of plant water storage over the globe (using the microwave L-band vegetation optical depth SMOS-IC product) and shows that the pre-rain greening often observed in seasonally-dry tropical woodlands is preceded by an increase in plant water storage over most of the dry season. The paper can be found here. A press release accompanying the article can also be found here (in french).
