The EcoFun team is always interested in recruiting highly motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students. INRA is one of the largest public institutes for environmental research and provides a stimulating environment for those who want to pursue a scientific career. If you are an undergraduate or a postgraduate student (i.e. candidate for a BSc or MSc) and seeking an internship you can contact us here. We even have the occasional placements available for students from College and Lycee just contact us and see if we have something that would suit your interests.


Prospective PhD students

The EcoFun team is always interested in recruiting highly motivated PhD students. This year we had two PhD projects opened for competition in the annual PhD competition at the Ecole Doctorale at The Universite of Bordeaux. Do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in doing a PhD project in our team.


Summer internships available

The ECOFUN team are generally happy to host a couple of students each year to help them obtain some interesting work experience and to assist us in some exciting projects that can even result in scientific publication.

Projects within the team vary from year to year :photo 5

  • Investigating the impact of Brassica plants on atmospheric chemistry.
  • Measuring the enzyme activity of plant litters from across a range of European biomes from the Arctic to the Mediterranean.
  • Investigating the dynamic influence of soil rhizosphere communities on soil pH and gas fluxes.
  • Investigating the impact of silica fertilisation on plant transpiration.
  • Investigating the seasonal variability of canopy temperature and evapotranspiration over different and uses.
  • Investigating the isotopic signals of hydraulic failure in trees.

INRA attractiveness programme (annual call)

Each year, INRA offers permanent positions through open competitions for either experienced research scientists (CR1) or research directors (DR2). These competitions are opened to any researcher with a PhD (or equivalent) and at least 4 years (CR1) or 8 years (DR2) of research experience. IdEx Bordeaux attractiveness programme (annual call)

Idex_Bordeaux_logoIdEx Bordeaux attractiveness programme proposes opportunities to researchers and teachers of any experience level, as to contribute to the development of the University of Bordeaux in terms of research, transfer and training. The programme proposes many schemes, from Visiting Professors, Junior Chair programmes, and Postdoctoral Fellowships for which the EcoFun team could act as a host. Marie Sklowdoska-Curie Fellowships (annual call)
